Irene Tondelli, is a photographer and curator based in Italy. She generates images that reflect on the human-nature-landscape triad. Her visual work never has to do with the urgency to create something but is dedicated to methodical research in territories that she never explored. She embraces the unconventional with the aim to create interconnections between imaginary, historical and contemporary places. She interfaces with Nature as a Great Unknown: multiform, frightening, amusing. In 2022 she founded Iryt, a multidisciplinary laboratory dedicated to wilderness inspired art. Her work is featured in national and international catalogues, websites and magazines and has been exhibited in various galleries in Italy and abroad.
